A few little ideas.

Recommended Posts

-Map editing tools released with a competition after a certain amount of time.

Chernarus is great, but how long has it taken for the map to be completed? Well, we can't answer that because it is still a work in progress. So I suggest mapping tools are released and after two months these should be submitted to the devs for a swift judging. The best one should make it's way into the game with the owner getting a few rare items as a reward. However these mapping tools would not include loot placement to stop people from placing little hidden arms caches.

-Less military bases, more military presence.

A military airfield (+ Balota if you count it nowadays), four military bases (Pavlovo,Zelenogorsk, Vybor & the one near Severeograd) and another random military tent city. Quite frankly this is a ridiculous amount of bases for such a small landmass though I do accept this is supposedly an entire country. But really, the game should have just NWAF and maybe another base somewhere. But to make up for the others, military checkpoints and aid stations around the map. More ad hoc affairs, not with much loot but more regular anyway.

-Weapons to spawn with magazines with randomised ammo amount.

A regular demand and not an unreasonable one. But contrary to some odd popular belief, all weapons that need magazines should spawn with them unless they are in some sort of gun room in a police station or barracks.

-Gun sway.

Gun sway is quite frankly ridiculous at this point, lieing down with perfect health, a perfect weapon yet your mosin still sways from side to side? Utterly ridiculous, sway needs to be lowered, it is just about bearable with a scoped assault rifle but hitting anything with an LRS beyond 200 meters becomes a challenge.

Oh and the thing I want though know many in the community would be sternly against.

British army equipment, MTP camouflage, MK7 Helmet, SA80A2. You get the drift. Why? Why not? The UN and NATO were clearly sent in, why not the British too.

Anyway, thats just my current few thoughts.

Hitting something at 200 meters becomes a challenge? Outrageous.

It should be a challenge to hit something at 50 metres.

With a Mosin with compensator and long range scope whilst lieing down and having as steady breath as possible it should not be much of a challenge. And 200 meters really isn't that far, though in hindsight it might not have been that far.

We're not playing soldier here, we're playing survivor. Accurately shooting a gun at those ranges is extremely difficult for novice shooters even under ideal conditions.

I agree that gun sway is way too strong. Should making a 200m shot with a mosin be hard, yes. it should be hard because of bullet physics and adrenaline, not because your gun is flying all over the place. IRL you would hold that thing still. It is hard, not impossible to hold a gun steady after running. Im sure its bugged anyway. tested it myself, but it seems ghost fractures and cold that arent reported to your status can cause the non stop sway. try using a splint and warming by a fire until you get the "hot" buff and see if the sway calms down. its helped me before.

I vote up for more sway for the reasons mentioned above. Espacialy after running / generating blood presure. While holding breath should be a big advantage at aming.

And yet we cannot hold our breath.

....can we?

I agree. I cant tell you how many times I've brought someone to the range only to have them miss every shot at a target even 50 feet away.

The average person being perfectly rested, healthy, and lying prone will have trouble holding a rifle still for a close range shot. A target 200m away? Good luck.

Even a zeroed scope?

Ooh there is an idea, players should have to zero in the scopes to suit them. I admit I don't know much about shooting but something like that would certainly (in my opinion) be a good mechanic.

Sure we can, i holded it the whole last year to see Dayz become more playable. Kidding, it works. I already tried.

Its custom bind is the right mousebutton as same as the zoom. I recommend give it a seperate button.

The zeroin thing sounds cool, but its much coding for a little feature
