Returning Player, cant get on any server using Six or DayZLauncher

As above I havent played in about 18 months and came on firstly to have no joy in being able to get the latest update but have now been successful using Six launcher, however when I join a server i get a message saying "this server is out of date, join anyway" to which I click OK and it just gets as far as saying "wait for host" and nothing happens after that. 

 

I downloaded DayZ launcher to see if I could get into a server that way but I get a message saying Arma 2 OA not found, do you have it installed? Answer, Yes. 

 

To get the software I downloaded all my Arma 2 files direct from Bohmeia Interactive website and then got DayZ via the website following Six link.

 

Can anyone shed any light as to why I cant get it to work. 

 

My level of knowledge when it comes to PC files etc is practically zero.

im unsure if the files from the bohemia website have any effect because the spyware shutdown a while back. but i believe they are out of date. Also, in your situation i think the servers you are trying to join are not being hosted anymore. You can download the files through steam now.(I would recommend re downloading them but thats your choice). most of the people i know use Dayz Commander.

downloaded dayz commander and no joy in updating to latest version, uninstalled dayz via commander and then reinstalled and im up and running now... thanks

Use steam?

 

Install arma 2

Run arma2

Install arma 2 oa
Run arma 2 OA

Install DayZMod
Run DayzMod

All done using steam
