Is the best way to use arrow keys?  I searched forum could not find anything searching for steer or steering.  Ty.

Huh? You use WASD, don't you? Don't see why you'd want a different way of steering it. Look in the controls and see if you can rebind it if you want it change the keybindings.

I have been pressing e to accelerate and the arrows to steer. seems to work for me I was just hoping for mouse steering

Get a XBox 360 controller plugged in, driving/flying is way easier and better :)
