Nvidia SLI Not Working Since 0.50 Released, Anyone Else Having Issues?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I'd noticed over the past week my FPS seemed to have dropped slightly, I assumed it was just caused by the new update (0.50) implementing lots of new things, and therefore hitting the performance slightly. But while playing last night I noticed a pretty significant drop in FPS in some areas, I Alt-Tab'd to check CPU/GPU usage and noticed only 1 GPU was being used.

I've tired rolling back to 4 different older drivers, doing a clean install of the drivers, reinstalling Nvidia Inspector and setting it back up manually....... But nothing seems to work.

Little confused to why it would suddenly stop since the 0.50 update, so I thought I'd ask you guys to see if I'm not alone.

Cheers

SLI doesn't make a noticeable difference. The game bottlenecks the GPU right off the bat. Adding another card into the equation doesn't solve the problem. You recent FPS drop was probably due to them adding things and changing things in the update. Fairly common thing for Early Access Alpha titles.

I don't know, granted it's not a huge increase in FPS, but I had done extensive benching, testing and tweaking of settings/configs to test whether SLI made a difference for me on my setup, and the result was most definitely yes. Again not a massive increase but certainly better than running on a single card.

I just can't work out why SLI would suddenly stop working.

Well I've managed to fix it it seems. Still have no idea why it suddenly stopped working, but it seems completely uninstalling the game and deleting any trace of the game, then reinstalling it again fixed the issue

Very strange....

you should download Nvidia inspector...

Not only will it allow you to see what (if any) SLI profile/settings are being used...

It will allow you to add the dayz.exe to the arma2:oa  or Arma3 profile and it forces SLI to use that profile's SLI settings (which is especially useful if you're using older drivers (pre dayz SLI profile)) which seems quite apt considering dayz is built on Arma2...

Also the older drivers [332.21] seem much more stable and optimized for SLI on my system.
