I have a save game problem with two computers

Recommended Posts

Hello and thanks for taking time to read this, my problem is very annoying i played day z before on two different computers and had no problem but my little brother matt has also bought this and wants to play it with me. As soon as i have tried this the server keeps denying him access and saying illegal copies will downgrade. I said oh well and let him play on my other computer and i find out he was on my profile and had all my stuff so i need to know how do i separate this information so we can play together or at least play with different inventories/characters.

TLDR: bottom line i need to know how to separate account info on two different computers so that he doesn't do something dumb and lose my hard earned loot.

P.S. also have used these computers at different IP addresses and the same thing occurred i had all the same gear. Please tell me someone has a solution. Thank you

Well, your character is bound to your CD key and that key is stored in the registry. Don't know exactely where it is but you should be able to find guides on how to edit it - cba to look for them myself at the moment but that should point you in the right direction...

Thanks i found another solution as well. If you log onto matt's steam and reinstall both the ARMA games under it on his steam acc. and i guess it changed the CD key like you mentioned and it made him a personal profile.

Well...I've got the same/a similar problem...

A friend of mine brought his hard drive with a steam backup to my house, to introduce me to this game and after he went home I proceeded to buy the game on steam and I tried to play on the same server with him, which caused me to (as you described) have his inventory and which also caused him to be kicked while joining...

My problem now is that deleting local content and completely downloading 16gb of game data, so I wouldn't use his backup didn't work...

Any ideas?

Cheers, Dan
