[Standalone] Servers do not refresh / show up

I've been playing the mod for a couple years now, and decided to try out the game.

 

I was in Germany when I bought it, and it appeared to work fine other than my old laptop couldn't handle it.

 

Fast forward a month or so and I'm home now (U.S.) with big beefy desktop computers that use thousands of watts and cause power surges that disrupt the entire neighborhood.

 

I bring up the server list, and there aren't any servers. I hit refresh a couple of times and nothing happens.

 

Back in Germany I didn't have to do anything, the servers just popped up automatically.

Ok, I will try it in an hour, but the thing is, I have been here for over a month, and tried on several days, not just Wednesdays.

If that's the case, then why are servers showing for me with users playing? I can't connect to any of them, only getting the connecting failed response. I figured I'll try later when I'm home, 3 hours later same issue.

Those servers you are seeing are the experimental servers.

Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked multiple times. I quit during the mod around the time Dean hiked Everest, and I just downloaded the game yesterday. So servers are down unless I download the beta thingy?

No.

 

The regular branch where the majority of the players can be found is the stable branch. It has a scheduled maintenance every wednesday that usually lasts 3 - 4 hours starting 7.00 GMT. When there is a new update incoming however, there is quite a bit more work to do, thus the maintenance can take most of the working day. Eugen ( dayz dev ) said it wont take more than an hour, and he said that almost an hour ago, so the servers should be up again anytime soon.

 

The servers you can see online right now are the experimental branch servers. This is the testing branch for the devs where they stress / load test their internal builds with a bigger player base. This branch is by definition unstable and not gameplay - oriented. You can always try it out ( check the experimental subforum to see how ) but be aware that his are not the builds that are meant to provide a nice gaming experience.

Thanks for the elaborate response. I know how frustrating it is to see repetitive questions, but I tried searching and couldn't find anything besides people bitching about the glitch.
