Hetstaine 10852 Posted July 1, 2012 I read through the voice comm thread in helpful threads but still could not find out why the below.. me and a mate were on BRA1 last night and trying to use direct comm (text) when standing side by side . We could not see each others chat at all, 1.7.1.5 beta 94209- vet server. We have tried it unsuccessfully with direct comm (text only) with other servers using 93965 and 94364 as well. Obviously i can see my chat and he can see his but that is all.We were all within a metre of each other with no results.Are we missing something basic here or is it still bugged ?From the voice comm thread .. Direct communication - Those who are near you hear voice coming from your character. Character's mouth moves when you talk. Voice fades over distance and cuts off at 80 meters. Been playing since before.. ' Anyone in Cherno ? ' :) when side chan was amusing. Definitely both in DC. Kreaol .. we did that , but not by choice, we were both battleye ping kicked within a few seconds of each other and had to restart. Both of us were in the forest above Cherno prone under the same tree, restarted but still no text appears. I was also helping a newly spawned out near Elektro a few nights back, i had a Mak so i was covering him while he looked for a weapon , i was trying to comm with him but either he was not seeing anything or did not know how it worked. From the way he was moving through Elektro he was not a newb though so i am guessing he could not see anything either. A couple of times we were stopped and we were sort of gesturing at each other and i had to point which way we were going so he would go there and i could watch his six. By the way we were playing i was guessing he was typing but nothing was showing. Might try a vanilla 1.7.1.5 and see if that works. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
