Z-fighting [Alienware X51 R2 Extrem]

Recommended Posts

Good day sirs and madams,

I got gamebreaking Z-fighting / texture flickering on my Alienware X51 R2 Extrem, mostly on objects and structures(especially inside them).

V-Sync(I can't get DVS to work) or GPU Buffering doesn't seem to help, changing basic options like Texture-Resolution or Aspect-Ratio doens't help either.

When I use the "flush" command via the console I think it helps but only for 30-50 seconds. (!Subjective!)

I have the suspicion it has something to do with too many frames per second (pre-buffered or otherwise) but on my machine it is basically impossible to get under 85 fps without having to let 3D Max or other GPU heavy applications use most of my system power, which helps oddly enough or at least feels like that since less frames means less flickering.

But I'm unsure on all that since V-sync should lock FPS to 60 anyways, right?

Thank you in advance for your time.

P.S: I got a Z-Fighting problem on Watch_Dogs too, which I could solve by reducing the Frame Pre-Buffering my graphic drivers(not gpu) did. Maybe that helps.
