Mic not working :/

When i try to talk to another player, my mic does not work. The person i am talking to says they can hear me for about a second, then it goes black. If i try to talk to them again after that, they cant even hear me for that second. I am bound to chat, which really sucks. This is very annoying and often gets me killed. A solution would be much appreciated.
