I think that the guns are one of the few things in this mod that doesn't need work or balancing. Maybe ammo spawn rate needs to be nerfed so people think twice about wasting bullets on low value just spawned survivors.

As it is at the moment, making my way to NWAF from a new spawn on the coast, my inventory and backback are stuffed with ammo before i'm even half way there.

I've been playing this game for a few weeks now, and i've died several times to bandits. Only once have I been shot at by a guy with a sniper rifle (he didn't kill me), all other times its was pistols/enfields and on a couple of occasions assault rifles.

So, dupe bugs/exploits aside, I don't think there is any problem with sniper rifle spawn rate.

As someone's pointed out, the best part of this game is the PvP aspect doesn't come from who can control their mouse best at maximum sensitivity... if you failed to see someone creeping up behind you, or failed to check your surroundings, or didn't see the silhouette of a person on top of a building (also a reason why I never play on 3rd person servers, people can see around corners, ruins it), or mistrust someone's "friendly?" message... you've lost the PvP, there's no aspect more human than that aspect of the PvP in this game, it's what makes it great.

I actually love the pvp aspect. No other game is like this.

I'd play it without any zombies at all, just for the realistic pvp and looting ability. It makes it so YOU DONT WANT TO GET SHOT! lol

You really just have to play tactically verus players. Gather your bandaids, your necessities. And be careful, watchful and listen.

No one likes dying. I'd love to be able to start over with at least 1-2 of my gained items... don't like starting without even a gun (really lame).

But don't change the game damages. Maybe reduce zombie hit damage. Since they run so insanely fast and hit so hard (break bones etc) thats a bit boring to endure over and over. I look for the pvp, not the endless running from zombies.

the skill in dayz/arma isnt shooting guns, its observation and moving carefully - that's what will win you fights, not clicking faster or being better at twitch shooting in close quarters.

Currently it is way too easy to be a bandit. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. There is no recourse to anything or consequence for it. Anyone can camp, or just shoot you in the back and that's it...

So yeah...Basically, as it is, you are rewarded for being a murdering psycho and punished for trying to practice non-violence and cooperation.

And that's somehow the developer's problem, that humans are inherently evil and the Lucifer Effect exists in us all? Should they include things that intentionally deter people from doing what comes naturally?

If there were a zombie apocalypse, I'd find MY FRIENDS. I trust them, I know them, and also they're mostly psychotic military stockpilers like myself. I wouldn't approach random survivors with guns, and I would WATCH for them. So yes, this game seems fairly realistic as it is.

There have been looters and robbers in normal situations, as well as in emergency situations. Look at EVERY CASE OF CIVIL UNREST EVER and you'll see that people do crimes at each other when the law isn't doing its thing. Why would a zombie apocalypse be any different?

PvP isn't just about the shooting.

If someone sees you before you see them and gets the first shot off' date=' [b']you've already lost the PvP.

Part of PvP is playing tactically, remaining aware, moving between cover, playing safely, and having a team to scout the area around you at all times. Most PvP happens before the shots are fired.

Avoiding players is PvP too. Their attempts to find and kill you versus your attempt to avoid detection and get away safely.

This game has tons of PvP. If you keep dying in 1 shot, you're probably bad at it. Work on getting better.

You make an excellent point. 90% of the PVP happens before the first shot is ever fired.

So basically, you want to turn this game into battlefield or CoD. If you're good at the game, you won't end up in situations where you are killed by someone you don't even see. That's where the skill takes place. Keep to the tree line and check your corners. If you're in a town, be on high alert.

Its not that kind of pvp.

In cod you have : Ill put 5 bullets in him, he'll put 6 in me, he wins.

In dayz : Ill stalk him, he'll turn around and notice me, he'll run around, hide, get behind my back, and if I dont notice, he WILL 1-shot me.

Eh, my only concern for this mod, is that some people play this game ONLY for the PvP. Which is, in my opinion.. Kind of stupid. If it's only for the PvP, just go play single player, it's just as fun as gun fights.

Either that, or leave the ArmA 2 community, that has been infested with complete dicks.. Compared to the old ArmA 2 community, who was mostly tactical, fun, and teamworking people.

People can argue that it's for survival... But honestly, I don't think shooting an unarmed survivor, with absolutely nothing on him but a backpack and a flashlight, is called survival.

The only solution for calming down PvP, is to make the zombies, so absolutely terrifying, and overpowered, that it will FORCE players to have to work together. Cause right now, the mod being in Alpha, and just the ArmA 2 engine itself.. The zombies are too much of a joke to have to worry about.

boom he dropped. And we got his loot i was so happy for

rs killing someone who never knew ur there. It wasnt a newb on the shore he had good loots and wasn't watching and paid for it. ( this has also happened to me tge reason i love this game be alert and stay in cover dont run though fields lol that what will happen to u

Because single player has lots of Player vs Player? :huh:

DayZ PVP is fun because you are trying to outwit another human being. And it's so intense because the stakes (your gear, his gear) are so high for a computer game.

I work together with friends every day. People I know out of this game and I can trust. You can make the zombies as hard as you want, we will keep working together and shooting anyone who isn't us if we get the chance.

So I think that Damage you can do to other players needs to be lowered This would create longer more epic fights and the fights would be more determined by skill and not "I shot first I win"

I REALIZE THIS IS UNREALISTIC BUT LOT'S OF THINGS IN THE MOD ALREADY ARE.

So' date=' I've had some pretty epic fights, involving quite a lot of cat and mouse play where my heart is beating like crazy for 10 minutes. Yes, people went down quickly when they were hit properly, but that is what military weapons do to people - kill them quickly.

If you want to make a good suggestion, ask to make military weapons harder to find, add things like throwing knives and other melee weapons, more bows/xbows, and things like that.

The people that die too quickly are those that are in plain view inside of my crosshair. If you are careful you will be able to have some long and intense firefights.
