Remington weird ammo glitch?

Right so I got hold of a remington 870 yesterday and was lucky enough to find another. Anyways I've been between different ammo like you'd expect, slugs and pellets but I can't make out why it won't let me use the ammo which states is for a m104 and then other times it lets me use 8rnd M104 bullets even though the other shells say m104 in the weapons used with. Can anyone explain this to me?

If it's the 2 round stack you'll need to get 3 more of them and combine them. Strange right?
