If you log out within 20 seconds of taking non-fatal damage, you die.

If it were implemented the only problem would be anyone who has a legitimate network issue. Any problems other than that? I'm not glossing over it, its just an idea to generate discussion. Probably a bad one seeing how its an alpha.

Or we could just have a timer that cancels upon taking damage. This way, network connections mean insta-log and nothing penalizes them.

Thats like a person going to sleep after getting a paper cut, they don't die in their sleep. How about a system you have to be out of combat for 1 minute (with players and zombies) to be able to log.

But then anyone who successfully fended off an attack is penalized simply for self-defense. A timer that cancels upon damage would be far easier than defining what makes you a "combatant", and more practical.
