Daddy'o 4 Posted June 30, 2012 I currently have the CO version installed on steam. Been enjoying for weeks.However I find myself in need of having another character.Obviously I could just use another steam account on the same comp and just re-buy everything.But instead I would prefer to use the arma 2 free version, and buy a non-steam version of the operation arrowhead.Would there be any issues having 2 characters this way, one being a full steam version and other being half free, external to steam version? I wouldn't be willing to buy the complete game a second time for that privilege, but for 5-10 bucks, sure. Perhaps this is something that simply cannot be done, IDK. Are there enough people who would like more than one character and would be willing to shell out for it? Then again maybe i'm completely wrong and don't know wtf I'm talking about. In reply to the other guy:I would deffo shell out an extra 10-15 for a new char, since I'm already trying to re-buy the whole OA. Daddy'o 4 Posted July 2, 2012 Just reporting back that I'm successfully running 2 characters simultaneously using the .reg files instructed in the link.However, you will have to add "REGEDIT4" in the beginning of each file on its own line and it's not stated in the instructions, for those of you who want to replicate. Just go to the right path in the registry, copy both keys for both operation arrowheads and make 2 short .reg files with the notepad and done. Don't even have to install anything or create profiles or nothing. Total time taken 3 minutes and you don't have to mess around with with two steam accounts or anything. Are you having a seizure at the computer, should I call someone to come pull your face off the keyboard?I'm playing with two separate groups of friends right now, some who are just starting out and are just flat out terrible, and others who are more experienced and into higher level play. I enjoy going back and forth between them, but that also means that I have to log on an HOUR ahead of my set play time with them and run literally across the map to make a meeting. Two characters means I can maintain a lower tier character and a higher tier one. If Rocket or someone else from the staff team comes in here and says this is illegal, then I won't do it.
