advice about Raid 0 / FancyCache

Recommended Posts

Hi, hopefully someone can give me some advice here, does Dayz just use operation Arrowhead, or does it require ARMA 2 as well? I bought ARMA2 as a stand alone DVD, and then have Purchased OA, BF, PMC through steam.

I'm thinking of building a RAID 0 partition and then moving my Steam folder to it, and then adding 4GB of ram to fancyCache off the new partition.

A - would this work?

B - would I also need to move ARMA2 to the same partition as well?

cheers in advance..

Moved to TroubleShooting

I'm not too familiar with RAID and partitions but I would imagine that it stores your CD-Key into your registry? You may have to verify the files once you move Arma 2 & OA Over to a new drive. DayZ requires both Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead.

Cheers for moving this Legacy, as it wasn't a problem with DayZ per se, I avoided posting it here and went OT instead. OK, good to know that I will need to make a partition big enough to hold all AMRA2 data on it. I read the Steam guild on moving the steam folder to another drive and it all seems straight forward enough, shouldn't be a problem with ARMA 2 either.. (haha - famous last words!!)

as its a rainy Saturday afternoon here I can experiment with the new Partiton and fancyCache and see what happens.. thanks for the info..
