When a zombie attacks!?!?

(This is an example for when you first spawn.)

I have the simple question of what to do when you alert a zombie? You can't fight it off and running seems to never end as you either gather more zombies or eventually the original zombie stops chasing you. This game is suppose to be extremely difficult i understand. But this situation is pretty much unavoidable. What is one suppose to do? :huh:

Run into a wide building with two exits.

Lose the zombie's line of sight and go prone if you can create a distance.

Run up a steep hill zig-zaggy then run back down straight.

Find a hatchet

Find a gun

Lose line of site. I usually run into a building then just run outside the back door. (If you do this, make sure to crouch once you're out the back door to not alert any other zeds)
