mareak 50 Posted October 8, 2014 Yeah they're not too bad, and with an axe or blunt object you can still thwart off like 5 at a time by running in a circle and whacking away lol. I was in a 3 story apt building in Berezino (I believe it was on the east coast) and one ran into the front door, acted like it was going up the stairs, then started hitting me. It hit me MANY times as I ran around the stairway to go find it. It was stuck on the bottom floor, hit me probably 5 or 6 times. I did not get any broken bones but my gear was almost all ruined, was Pristine prior. Its alpha, but still going on. Not nearly as bad as it used to be. Now you just have to deal with the zeds having better vision than superman...seriously..they see you like 1000m away lol oh yes and this too..the vision LOL!! no point in crouching and walk slowly just runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!! :)
.Ender. 42 Posted October 8, 2014 a lot of people don't know it, but if you just run at them and strike them with an axe it'll take em out, if not on the first hit, on the 2nd for sure. My only gripe is they see you from way way way far away, and you think all is clear..20s later youre scouting a house and theres a zed scaring the piss out of you as it screams behind your back...or you just get hit lol. all part of the fun to be honest
solodude23 649 Posted October 8, 2014 Either some of you have horrible luck or you're just way over-exaggerating. For me, doors, fences, and walls stop zombies at least 80% of the time, if not more. I lock zombies in houses more often than I melee or shoot them and it works reliably enough to be worth it.

You still draw aggro from inside buildings, but they'll be standing in front of doors until you open them. In some places it's still possible to hit them through closed doors (long barracks for example). I barely see any zombies entering closed buildings, except for the blonde female in the purple shirt who still appears to be bugged. Also hoppers still sometimes clip through floors, but that's a bug that works for the player, since you can freely hit a zombie stuck in the floor without getting hit yourself. Since .49 I have never ever been hit through a wall. So yeah, all these people complaining that its worse or the same as before are very unlucky, or they plain don't know what they're talking about. Or they're just arguing for argument's sake because they've long decided that DayZ is terrible and will never improve, and will never admit to anything else. Doors prevent zombies getting in/out of buildings maybe 20-30% of the time. And I get hit through walls often enough for it not to be worth it. And I got attacked repeatedly over a large distance by an invisible zombie the other day.
