Hear me out.

Brief Description:

Just like Helicopter crashes these can be random survivors that are NPC's which are holding up in a building.

Now you either have to escort them to safety or kill a certain amount of zed's.

Longer more detailed:

So you're casually walking through a small town when you hear someone talking (NPC) possibly asking for help, You go in and enter the building however can't start a quest without so many survivors (brings team-play into mind) once you've gathered survivors you can finally help this random person who is stuck in a building/passing out/needs items.

Situation 1:

Help, I'm surrounded (shown zombies around the building) Shoot a horde of zombies and receive a reward for saving the NPC.

Situation 2:

You're gracefully walking through open fields and hear a wisper on closer inspection you see someone lying on the ground and they ask you to carry them to a designated area apon doing so you receive loot as a reward.

Situation 3:

Barter's have NPC's that need certain supplies e.g 3 car wheels or cans of beans; Upon bringing the items to the selected NPC you are rewarded.

--

Rewards:

Lower Tier Rewards:

Alice packs.

Cans of pasta/beans

Soda/water can's

makarov mag/weapon

tool's

Medium Tier Rewards:

All listed above

NVG's

GPS

Machine guns/rifles

ammo

Higher Tier (RARE):

All listed above

Vehicle of some sort

Coyote back pack

Blood-bag's

Morphine

Diary Pages (would be nice to find diary's of people when the outbreak first happened)

Ghillie suits.

Now obviously the chances of getting the higher tier are next to none however they work similar as there spawns currently; The car may only be spawned once from missions until it's blown up.

The random 'quests' could be rare like helicopter crashes.

Would like some feedback; will do spell check etc when I wake up since its almost 5am here.

It's not a crazy idea, but to keep my immersion intact, I would need to be able to kill these NPCs and find my supposed rewards on their corpses. If this was the case, there would be little to motivate me to complete the quest instead.

The only thing I don't really like is the rewards. I think finding the stuff yourself is the reward.

These sound good in theory and I'm all for new ideas for Day Z and the development of it. But personally I think stuff like this should stay in Dead Rising and it has no place in Day Z. Also Day Z has always been about the PVP and the zombies, I don't think there should ever be any kind of human NPC's.

hangon, why can't players do this for each other now?

lern2imagine: Rocket has said DayZ will not and cannot compromise on being a purely player defined world
