Arma 2 Key / Overpoch question

Okay this is a 3 part question so bare with me, here goes:

 

1) I have been using the arma 2 Steam version back when dayz only had less than 1000 players, after a while I decided to get the retail version, so what I did was I exported the registry entry of BI, deleted everything including the registry entry and installed my retail version.

 

Then I exported the new BI registry entry and I was able to switch between my two keys or two identities ever since by a simple mouseclick. I found this to be very comfortable as I could have one character fully geared and in a certain location if I were to play with my friends and use my second key to do whatever random stuff I felt like doing.

 

Now that Gamespy shut down I have to use my steam version again, but as you might have guessed already from what I said so far, within this lies the problem.

 

When I switch keys now, it simply always starts with my steam key, even though I added the deny option for set value on the arma 2 OA folder in the registry, it still boots up with the steam key, yet it doesn't change it in the registry, it simply loads the same character all the time (I'm not talking about profile, I really do mean chracter as in I have the same gear and am in the same spot etc).

 

Is the Key for arma 2 OA in steam saved somewhere else besides in the hkey_localmachine...Wownode...BIS directory?

 

2) This is a question specificly about OVERPOCH.

 

I have encountered too many armored vehicles to count and I have been getting annoyed by it for a simply reason but let me explain by an example.

 

Yesterday I blasted 2 DMR mags of my AG3K into the back window of an armored SUV (Which is the weakest armored vehicle atleast thats how it was in wasteland) and neither the window took a crack nor the drivers head which I was aiming at, so heres my question, can armored vehicles in Overpoch seriously not be damaged by any calibre below .300?

 

But thats not it, today I came by an abandoned Vodnik so I decided to give it 3 shots of my MSR right into the engine in the front, after that I tried to see the engine status but it didn't show up which means the engine was still at 100 percent. Thats .338 Lapua and therefor the second biggest calibre in the game, if that can't destroy those vehicles, what can?

 

3) This is not entirely about overpoch as I have also seen this on the DE1000 servers which are regular DAYZ private hive servers.

 

Some weapons - on DE1000 the as50, on Overpoch most LMG's and the cheytac - remove your backpack when you pick them up, yet I have seen some people running around with AS50's and backpacks, after asking the only answer was that there is a trick to carry both, does anyone know how this works? 

 

Also a little side question here, I have seen people on DE1000 with 2 primary weapons even though you can only carry 1 (keep in mind that this is regular dayz not origins), how does that work?

 

I would appreciate any answers.

DE1000 is so heavily scripted that it has many extra features. The admin brought back 2 primary weapons at the same time.

 

The trick with the AS50 is put hatchet in back, take as50, put hatches on hands, pickup backpack, change to AS50. It does not work on all servers tho.
