dazbobaby 6 Posted May 14, 2012 er.... too many zombiesNot everyone is happy with it, so at least give admins the choice, and let players vote with their feet.
Mayeroflove 0 Posted May 14, 2012 Quit crying and adapt. More Zombies equals more thinking ahead and playing smart.
ytman18@gmail.com 9 Posted May 14, 2012 is it possible for admins to roll back their servers to 1.5.6?Seriously? its not even been a day yet. The update to .7 was great and does a lot more than just add exorborant zombies. It also modified their behaviors greatly and gave them awesome sounds and I love it all!Sure its a tough road right now (with the near immediate repawns), but its certainly workable. I had a pal walk all the way from Elektro to just north of Solnichiny in pitch black. He did it in record time and with minimal issue.I figure that things will balance out in the future, but just because you can't survive now doesn't mean we can't. If you want just take a break from the game and wait for the next update, they are very good with updating in a timely manner.
WildGunsTomcat 78 Posted May 14, 2012 er.... too many zombiesNot everyone is happy with it' date=' so at least give admins the choice, and let players vote with their feet.[/quote']Most people would insult you. I'm not going to. But I will say this: You are neutering the game if you roll it back. I get some people like choices, but if I were rocket I would take your server out of the hive if you roll back. I think the zombie count is perfect. But, that's just my opinion.
sunnz 24 Posted May 14, 2012 The zombie count is fine, but IMO its a bit too much for these fast and zig zagging zombies. Plus zombies can spot you through the wall which is annoying.
sorophx 25 Posted May 14, 2012 er.... too many zombiesthe lack of zombies was a bug. prior to 1.5.5 or so there were hundreds of zombies on each server, but then something went wrong. they're trying to fix it. 1.5.6 is out of the question since it's a broken build. deal with it
drewmaw 56 Posted May 14, 2012 I'm uploading 1.5.6 files to my dropbox, i'll link them here soon. Many servers have rolled back already.
oilman 72 Posted May 14, 2012 Locked. This is an alpha, and testing needs to be done. Rolling back is simply inexcuseable. (There is also a thread already present on the topic of servers running 1.5.6.)If a Dev disagrees, feel free to unlock it. But I strongly suspect that any server refusing to update will get a stern talking to by Rocket and Co.

You are either an alpha tester or you are not.A stern talking to? I hope they get blocked from HIVE. Let them play the way they want, if they like, but don't impede the progress of this mod that still has a lot of changing and testing to do in it's future. I'm here to do what I can to test the mod updates, provide feedback (and the occasional suggestion for improvement), find bugs, and hopefully help it to one day reach something close to "finished". Having fun like it's any other game/mod is nice, but NOT what I am here for. That's what players *invited* to participate in a public alpha test (a VERY rare thing) are expected to do... not find a comfortable spot on the development path and beg to keep it there.
