qla 0 Posted June 29, 2012 For couple of weeks now, i've seen some servers revert the time back to dawn/midday when it's getting dark, so they do not loose all the players to the other servers that are in different timezone. Some even advertise this in their server name with tags like: "nt:off". Question is, how in hell are not these servers blacklisted?
shawnbayer75 83 Posted June 30, 2012 It depends how they are doing it. If they are stopping the servers entirely and then modifying their system clocks manually to keep it constantly daytime I do not see how this is a problem.
qla 0 Posted June 30, 2012 So we can officially say goodbye to night time in dayz? In the launch weeks all(?) of the servers had have their time cycle 1:1 with their servers local timezone, has this changed, and when?
johndstill@gmail.com 172 Posted June 30, 2012 No, most usually do not change back to day. Some do however, ask that their timezone be changed so that they can have alittle light when playing. Most normally do not change it per instance...
Rehtiossi 0 Posted June 30, 2012 Definately we should have all servers forced to 1:1 to their timezone, cant ever find people playing night time, sure you can find people at night on eu servers that are utc -6 or such. But lets be honest. There is no night time in the game at the moment so cba about threads about night time before they fix it.
evilkhaoz 2 Posted June 30, 2012 My server is normal day night cycle and I have a steady group of players who like night. They need to make it so it's not fucking pitch ass black all the damn time though I never see the moon anymore =-(

cdr 11 Posted June 30, 2012 Isn't nt = name tags? You do also realise that your player clock and the server clock gets desync'd the moment you start playing (your watch runs faster). So when you think you're at night, the server is still in the day. Then when the server restarts, or you reconnect, your watch gets resync'd returning you to the 'correct' server time. Which may seem like when the server has been restarted it's reset its clock (because its gone from night to day), but all that's happened is you're now running at the correct time.Give it a try, play on a server for about 30 mins, then get a mate to join - your watches will be out of sync (his will be the correct time). Its why it's beneficial to reconnect to a server after a few hours of play, because you could be at quite a disadvantage (particularly around dawn / dusk). Could be' date=' i've just seen this happen on servers so i thought it's a way to tell which servers do this. You do also realise that your player clock and the server clock gets desync'd the moment you start playing (your watch runs faster). It's about server admins that actually change the time, say from 01:00 to 13:00, just to keep player count high, as you can see almost all of the night time servers are empty. Was watching a stream last night and i think Vipeax was playing in it also, they actually saw one of these awesome admins ask the players should he make the server day time again, he did not change it tho, strange. sambrown1994@gmail.com 2 Posted June 30, 2012 It's kind of irritating, that every server you join would be night time. playing at night is pretty crappy when you don't have NVGs.
