oshi7 365 Posted June 29, 2012 After 1.7.1.5 came out and fixed sound and visual aggro levels (after the disaster of 1.7.1.4) I loved the game again. You could stealth around zombies and would only get aggro if you made a mistake, now, without a patch, it seems like the aggro is back to where it was. I'm aggroing zombies out of eyesight by crouch jogging?! Doesn't make sense.I literally came across a guy doing nothing but crawling around Elektro and still getting more aggro than he could deal with. This is not fun nor immersive. My squad and I have all noticed it and are having increasingly difficult time with new characters, despite knowing the game in and out.
Techercizer 82 Posted June 29, 2012 Don't like aggro? Be more careful.I'm sneaking through populated towns with no issues.
BaitedHook 24 Posted June 29, 2012 learn to juke. running from building to building fast looting is the best way to get geared.the faster you move the harder it is for you to get shot.zombie train will protect you from close range gankers. they shoot you they get zerged they force to dc or waste ammo.juke zombie train when you finish the city.crawling and crouch walk sets up people for failure and you will be just another "bean" for vets that gears up faster than you. wonder why experianced players all seemed geared and you get ganked all the time? because they fast clear and take everything before the snails (aka crawling/crouch walk nubs) and head to the north before the noobs and get geared up with m4s nvg and sniper rifles to hunt beanies like you who is still dying in cherno/elektroand guess what the vets die too a lot in elektro and cherno pvping but after a while you will get your own loot speed runs clearing the high yield buildings in record time
Kain Phalanx 9 Posted June 29, 2012 Aggro from sound is all you really have to worry about. You basically just have to walk everywhere in towns, which seems ok to me. I don't know why people think they need to prone everywhere. I walk upright through towns and have little problem if I take my time and am vigilant.

Finkle 0 Posted June 29, 2012 Yeah the sound and vis distances have been changing a lot with all the patches. People are right it really is most effective to just get in and out as fast as possible and never hang around one place for too long. Zombies are easier than ever to give the slip now though so that's something. You can still screw yourself if you are out in the open and aggro zeds in the daytime though. But pretty much any town with a barn or something you can run through solves your problems easily enough. I also watched someone else die because they were training zombies and got trapped. What you're doing is a poor way to play the game even if it may be effective. It should get patched eventually.Everyone will be in a situation where they are helpless to be shot. Losing your cool because of it and playing like you are always in someone's crosshair isn't really the best course of action.
BaitedHook 24 Posted June 29, 2012 the zed will protect you from those leeroyfield users that waits in cherno elektro to gank. if they shoot they get agro and they will have to deal with the zombie train.running fast and zig zagging avoid zombie hits and sniper hits.also hatchet is god when you are leading a zombie train against a ganker if you know how to dodge bullets
mannyfresh 1 Posted June 29, 2012 I've never really thought of fast looting like this. I always called those dudes jackasses and just assumed they were training zombies for the lulz. Actually makes a lot of sense.I still enjoy creeping and will never just run straight somewhere. I end up just trying to kill the guys (and most times do) then lead the zombies into a building with double enterances. So far I've managed to stay alive for 13+ days. This is with looting towns, the coast, and the barracks regularly.I guess what I'm trying to say is both play styles are valid.
soapmak3r 677 Posted June 29, 2012 It seems to me like every time I enter a building, even if there is a wall between me and the zombie, or even if I am on an upper floor of a building... If they get too close to me in terms of horizontal radial proximity, they get aggro, then every zombie in the immediate area joins them because they appear to be telepathically linked...I have no way of accurately knowing where the zombies are when I am inside, and I have nowhere to go once I am inside a building because they are massive choke points...But somehow the zeds know exactly where I am without line of sight, or me making any noise at all. Often they get aggro and then clip through the walls, or hit me through the walls...It makes looting a building way more difficult than it should be, especially as a beginning survivor. You can have perfect stealth, but then get ganked because a zombie wanders too close to the building you are looting and somehow detects you through the wall...then teleports through the wall, or just punches you through it.It's not logical and you can't reasonably argue that it shouldn't be fixed. It's faulty AI.
oshi7 365 Posted June 30, 2012 I don't really want to game the system, I'd rather play normally and get immersed and enjoy that rather than exploiting the AI.
