First of all, thermal scope is the greatest thing I have ever used haha.

I bumped into this guy in a barn north of zelenogorsk. He said friendly, asked if I needed anything. I said no and that I was just heading north. He said he was going south.

I hung in the barn while he left. I watched out the little peep hole to see him run 100m turn past a bush, and aim his m16 back at the barn. I don't know if he was in range but I said "friendly huh" and he ran another 100m to a hay bail. I fired one burst past his head, he popped a smoke grenade, but with the thermal I had a clear view of him as he ran off into the woods. Popped some warning shots past him as he ran and disappeared in the trees.

The thermal was so helpful in spotting him hiding in the bush, I'd probably be dead otherwise haha.

He may have been being cautious just as you were. I always watch my back after coming in contact with a "friendly" survivor.

I ran across a field and saw someone coming straight at me. I dived to the floor and hailed friendly. He did the same, and after 5 ridiculous minutes, we both got up and carried on our journey walking backwards and facing each other with guns at the ready. It turns out we were both as good as our word. I really should of told him that he was heading towards some merciless bandits though - they were who I was running from.

It's those tense standoffs with a racing mind that make this game so organic...
