In game description says it takes 12 guage shells. I've found some green 12 guage shells in a house, but it's not reloading for me. So, I'm guessing it's the wrong kind Where is the best place to find ammo for this gun?

i think you mean M1014 Slugs

You can find clips with 8 shots at military buildings like bases or firestations.

but you can also combine four of the normal 2 shot shotgun ammunition to one 8 shot clip in your inventory

the only shotgun ammo you can't use is the 15rd Winchester slugs. The 2 & 8 rd slug and pellets you can use.
