zombie3000@hotmail.co.uk 27 Posted June 29, 2012 Hope that you get lucky & find a hatchet or a gun!I started playing 2 days ago...despite watching every zombie movie & playing every zombie game under the sun ive already died quite a few times. If you do find a hatchet remove it from your tool belt to equip it (i didnt know this at 1st)...they seem to be more common than guns at the moment.Keep at it though as it can be difficult just getting a weapon at the moment but once you do looting gets easier. I seem to be improving at looting too & im finding more gear with each life.
Nyz 42 Posted June 29, 2012 Learning how to move around zombies undetected will be the most important thing to learn right now. That and which buildings are enterable. Once you learn how zombies hear / see, your survival rate will hit the roof. Oh .... and avoid cherno or electro

Ag3nt Richt3r 19 Posted June 29, 2012 So I bought CO yesterday and am looking forward to Dayz. Any tips on getting a good start/surviving for a bit?Add me on Steam, my user ID can be found in my sig. I'd be glad to show you around the game and help you get your feet wet.My first tip. Be prepared to die, and to die alot. Secondly, Be patient, this is not your typical 'shooter'. The controls can be difficult at first, play the training missions for ArmA II. I have seen alot of frustrated players who are expecting to be behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang with an automatic transmission and find themselves driving a Ferarri 458 Italia.Lastly, grab the two DLC packs for Operation Arrowhead if you don't already have them. Don't get me wrong, DayZ is a great mod, but there are so many other great mods for this game. Alot of them do however require the DLC. DayZ does not.
