Can not connect to central server (lost character)

Long story short..

 

Geared up for about 2 hrs, server reset.. went to log back on and get come message about not being able to connect to central server so a default character has been loaded, we recommend you disconnect immeaditly.

 

Is that guy gone for good?

If you disconnect immediately and try again until you find your guy you should be good.  Whenever you see that message, disconnect, don't move, don't look around don't check your inventory, if you do the character will be gone for good since the new one is the one that will save to the data base.

Hey mate, I posted about this a couple of days ago as it happened to me. That message has come up quite a few times for me in the past week but as others have stated as soon as I see that message (on the first black screen) I hit esc and get out. It did it again 2 days ago but when I logged back in, all my clothes and gear were gone but my character was still there with all his health and in the exact same position. My character is still alive which is what the game is about for me, I can always go find more gear.

 

Note: The server I was on restarted, so when I clicked out I tried to go into another server I stopped that and decided to return to the original server which wasn't up yet. Apart from the count down waiting to get into the server again I noticed that is when the issues started with the resetting to default character started. Don't quote me on this part but I think if you try and change servers too quickly or too much the game might try and reset your character because of that (I don't know the mechanics behind that though). If that happens to me I shut the game down and come back a few hours later and my character will always be there as it was when I left him.

Still having a blast playing the game though, prlly one of the best gaming purchases I've made in awhile.
