hidden Fake death animation?

Can anyone confirm this? I was playing in experimental, when I start playing with throwing items, when for some reason or something I did, my player played the uncounscious animation, and quickly got up after I pressed W. 

 

Was this a bug?

Bug. There is no hidden fake death animation ingame.

On the grounds that you would volunteer to put yourself in such a vulnerable position in hopes of maybe fooling a player into thinking you are dead.

 

I just don't buy it I can't imagine a situation in real life where such a thing would be the best course of action nor where it would actually fool the other person.

 

It just feels like something strictly for the movies.

 Why wouldn't it fool the other person? Person shoots at you, you fall down with the proper animation behind a bush/crate/rock. You watch till person comes to loot your body then roll and shoot them.

If he is like my or any other player I have met before he is gonna pump extra rounds into you including your head then check your pulse before looting you.

Having a partner up the way a bit to shoot him when he comes to loot your fake-dead corpse would be cool. 

 

Also, for realism. I can do it in real life, and it sounds cool. I also want a Fred Sanford heart attack animation. "I'm coming to join you Elizabeth!!!"

So if you were under a hail of gunfire in real life, and hasn't been hit, you wouldn't consider playing dead to give yourself an opportunity to escape?

Yea I would never pretend I was shot because chances are you will then be a much easier target to get shot.

 

You don't get to respawn in real life thus I would never take the risk.

There are certain animals such as grizzly bears that are known to leave you alone after they know you aren't a threat anymore, and "faking your death" causes them to be less hostile and leave you alone. This should be a risk that might work when hostile animals are in the game.

 

With the case of getting shot, I definitely think it should be in the game. You won't do it, but other people will, and if it fools you even just once, it was worth it.

I once took out a guy at the northeast fire station in Electro after he killed one of my buddies.

He was bleeding all over the floor and as I started looting his body all of a sudden he just jumped back up and started heading up the stairs!

I chased him all the way to the top and took him out for the second time before he could reload. Freakiest thing ever.....lol.

It's better than running around saying FRIENDLY FRIENDLY FRIENDLY! Sure you will lose majority of your gear, but if it's a careless group of bandits, they won't check your pulse.

Ideally I rather have a gun to shoot back I am merely saying you stand a bigger chance to survive if you fight back instead of laying down pretending to be dead.

I think it'd be pretty cool, how many people are really going to waste extra bullets? Only people geared up to the max would really.

 

But it would only be good if you could do some kind of leg sweep and knock them down, with the time it takes you to get up after they check your pulse...you dead son.

Movement is too slow in this game for it to work.

 

In real life people would be fast enough to tackle at least not wait for an animations. While it would be viable in some situations mostly I think it wouldn't be.

 

I'd like it to be there but would only use it for lols such as as a fresh spawn lay in the middle of the road(after clearing zombies) so I'm definitely found and have a note next to me or on me saying "THEN WHO WAS PHONE?" or something, then when they go to loot something I get up and leave so they're like wtf where did he go!?

Assuming they didn't check my pulse or try to hide my body that is.

Ahah really ? ammo is plentiful and who does not shoot people once in the floor again in the head just in case.

This might be a good addition. There arnt many situations where i would use it but it could well be a life saver at some point. Btw dont bother arguing with the guy that doesnt want it in. You wont win that arugment since he has an answer for everything (not very good answers). You cant reason with people like that.
