How do you lose zombies?

Ive read here that zopmbies can be lost by breaking the line of sight but i swear they are like terminators they run as fast as you and just dont stop and Im not sure if im lagging or what but sometimes they seem to teleport short distances. So what I need to know is what measures do I need to take to lose these zeds because people on here make it seem like its childsplay.

Well you could:

Run into a building and run out the other side

Run and Run building a massive train of zombies and then shoot your buddy in the leg

The less honourable, frowned upon, (but most effective) disconnecting despawns all zombies chasing you.

Make sure if you run in a building and run out the other side. Don't keep sprinting. Start crouch walking. Most people forget to just slow down after the line of sight's been broken.

... then when they are walking uphill slowly, make a turn and run down the hill, the infected are not very nimble and often stumble over their legs, breaking their neck. You just saved bullets and may have found some food, soda & sometimes even ammo.

A hilarious way to escape is to run down a steep hill.
