Buildings All Rubble in Cherno+Random Death=?

I was just in Cherno and when I came to the town center with town hall and the skyscaper, all of the enter-able buildings were rubble. I then heard the sound of someone getting hurt, then died.

I didn't hear any gunshots, I was prone in some grass, and it was nighttime. Can anybody shed some light on what happened? If I didn't get killed by someone with NVG's and a suppressed weapon then I don't know what happened.

Sounds like a hacker. There was a small chance it was a clan bombing the city, but that is so rare it is more likely it was a hacker.
