Basements

Recommended Posts

Hi,

What about basements? So many houses have them, yet in dayz I haven't seen a single one. Basements are perfect for a scary environment, since they are usually very dark. It could be a good loot spot because people often store stuff there. It would be so nice if sometimes zombies wait there in the dark and then scare the shit out of someone who's looking for loot there. Plus it would make the flashlights more "necessary" because usually many players try to avoid night time.

They won't add basements because the map work is technically already done, building wise at least. They are still adding more cities just no more building types. I love the idea personally but I just don't think they will ever do it. :P I remember way back when they said something about underground player-made bases waaaaay back like four months before SA was even released but haven't heard anything about that since then. So yeah, basements are a no go.. 3:

Well underground objects are possible in VBS2 (or in this video, dont know if its in the "game").. I dont know how much different the engine is (there is no info on wikipedia) but I can imagine underground stuff like basements to be possible in the future. I mean.. they want to improve the engine, no? Maybe thats part of it.
