doublebrain 255 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) Hay folks Dont like floating guns or melees on the back of players? Yes, no? I dont.. Solutions:- You need a back holster to carry rifles/ melees. (or put them in a piece of clothing/ backpack ofc)- Ofc you can still carry a weapon in your hands. (when items finaly stop disappearing when u drop them on the ground there would be no real downside to put them in hands)- You can find back holsters so you can carry rifles on your back and melee weapons like pickaxe, baseball, hatchet.- You can stack 2 back holsters so you can carry 2 big things on your back.- Back holsters are replaced by vests so vests should also have back slots sometimes. You can combine back and chest holster.- Backpacks also work as holsters. Child briefcase has no back slot and cant add any, taloon has no back slot and can add one with crafting, mountain and hunter both have 1 and can add 1 with crafting.- Improvised backpacks can be upgraded with back holsters. (burlap 1, leather 2)- You can combine backpack and back holster (like vests+backpack) but you can carry max 2 weapons on your back. - Maybe you spawn with 1 simple back holster.- Maybe you can even differ between melee and gun/ rifle holster and make weapons holsters more rare then melee ones. Whats the reason to add that stuff? - People can have 2 rifles on their back (quite some people wanted that) but they have to find a holster for it first.- Adds some crafting.- Makes backpacks look much more apocalyptic/ survivor like when they have crafted stuff on them.- No more floating pickaxe on back of players.- New items to hunt for. Yup. Edited July 4, 2014 by Symon

audax 207 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) did you see that strange object under the rifle? it makes it magically stay on your back. please. why people want to make this game more problematic. Edited July 4, 2014 by Edoissimo
Ninja_Meh 115 Posted July 4, 2014 for me i think having two guns on your back (although people may WANT it) is a bit much, the only way i think this should ever be implemented is if it strips your character of the ability to sprint. as a point in case to this though i feel the toolbelt function in the mod, should be implemtented as a lootable item (varied tool belts ie; a workmans toolbelt which would allow for say an axe, can opener and torch or other similair items to be holstered around the waist, and a police and or military utility belt allowing for the addition of a holstered pistol and maybe an extra melee so you could have all the above holstered items freeing up inventory space as well as allowing to have say a axe and pick axe on your person without needing to fill all your invent space) i strongly feel that having two guns on your back allowing for the ability to hold a third main weapon is just not realistic in any sense. i seriously doubt any person would really find it easy to move around at all well if they had two rather heavy guns over each shoulder as well as a bag and other items. UltimateGentleman 355 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) did you see that strange object under the rifle? it makes it magically stay on your back. please. why people want to make this game more problematic. Well A) Not every gun is going to have that B} The game is extremely easy C) it's supposed to be difficult. I suppose a mod will merge these topics anyway. 11tw 106 Posted July 4, 2014 did you see that strange object under the rifle? it makes it magically stay on your back. please. why people want to make this game more problematic.yep... and not a single rifle in day z has those right now. They need to be added as an alternative to holsters. So basically you are agreeing with the OP's idea of needing items to hold up rifles. YAY!!! everybody is happy!!!

mazymodz 10 Posted July 4, 2014 A weapon sling would probably be best.
UltimateGentleman 355 Posted July 4, 2014 Well I hope weight will make it into the game, guess that will balance it somehow. I think it does right now, it sure looks like I'm running a lot faster after I get killed with gear on and spawn without. Maybe it's just a perspective thing but it definitely feels like you go faster without gear, so I think that being more in depth is definitely coming.
