Hit Detection

Recommended Posts

Every once and a while when I shoot at another player , it seems to take a 1/2 a magazine of 5.56 to bring them down. Other times I shoot them twice and they go down as expected, does anyone have any thoughts as to whats happening?

Lag, range and hit zone (head, torso, limbs) are all factors in how much damage rounds do afaik.

Today I was on the outskirts of balota airfield and some survivor came crawling up next to me and I had to shoot him maybe 10 times in the chest area to kill him... My ping was 36 at the time. He was literally 5 feet from me.

10 times in the chest with what? A 5.56 stanag mag? That is more than you need, but there is always a chance you missed, or fired too many. From my experience, 5.56 seems to do 3-4k blood per hit.

Also remember it takes nearly a second for your info to reach them (due to how the servers seem to work) and in that time you probably were shooting a dead body, whereas on his screen you probably shot him once and killed him.

Yeah STANAG M4 CCO. He was crawling next to me so I shot him 3 times in chest area and he proceed to crawl away behind the tree right behind me so I circled around and shot him maybe 9 more times before he was reported killed on the ticker and on my debug menu.

I just keep shooting until they're down. The hit detection seems inconsistent due to desync
