Found my first vehicle

Ok, so I am not super new to the game, but I have never used a vehicle in game. I am currently going solo, so I have not really gotten setup enough yet to get to that point.

However, I recently found a vehicle in a secluded location. I have a few questions because I am not 100% sure on these things:

#1 - If I put gear in the vehicle and it is not repaired, will my gear save in the vehicle (assuming someone doesn't steel it)?

#2 - As a solo player, is there really much point in repairing a vehicle?

#3 - Any general tips / tricks to owning or using a vehicle?

I am really debating if I want to repair it or just use it as a tent (as I have yet to get one). It is in a secluded area, and as such would take a while to even simply transport the materials to repair it fully.

I tend to play solo most of the time, and I have to say that vehicles are AWESOME if used properly and safely. What I mean is that they are great to move from city to city, but do so cautiously. Park well outside the city as to not draw attention to yourself from infected or PKers. Oh, and hitting things can and will blow you up!

2: yes and no... depending on what you want to do :)

3: save it often... Hide it in a good spot... expect to lose it

very fast. If not you most have choose a good hiding spot.

I learned that when you save the vehicle you must come back to the same server you saved it on. It will not transfer over servers and I lost my bike to not knowing this. Vehicles are great and very valuable as I got from cherno to the north west air field faster than I ever have. That was just on a bicyle.

Also, zombies don't spawn, when you drive through a city. So, you could drive up to a supermarket, turn off the engine (!) and get out. A few seconds later, zombies will spawn, so be careful. Once you turn on your engine again, zombies will chase you from all over the town, so park the car in a way, you can get out of town quickly. You can shake off the zombies easily, since your car is much faster than they can run. But if you're stuck, they will eat you.

Do not bump into things.

Save the vehicle every time, you get out.

Don't put anything in it, and realize that it will disappear while you are offline.

If there are helicopters on the server, they can see your vehicle on radar and the owners will take it.

Enjoy it while you can.

Yes, vehicles are bound to the server they spawned on. Just like tents.

Also, don't park your vehicle too close to your camp or you might lose both.
