Ingame VOIP too silent

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I have the problem that my ingame voip transmits way to silent. (It transmits, but silently!)

When I speak loudly into it, a player standing next to me hears a silent whispering...

My friends can hear each other (and other players) very good, but I'm just silent as hell to them.

Also other players asked me to write instead of speak...

The problem only exists in DayZ.

Skype, TS, Windows Recorder and Audacity all record/transmit my voice in perfect volume.

The mic levels are all up!

I tried the mic boost up to +30db but it didn't help.

I did the following so far:

- checked the mic is in Mic-In and not Line-In

- tried a different mic

A "Philips SBC ME 570/00" instead of my "Shure KSM141"

[Yes, I know the Philips needs batts]

[Yes, the Shure is attached to a preamp and phantom power is on]

- tried different cables from / to preamp

- tried three soundcards (and always removed / deactivated the other ones)

Onboard, Audigy SE and a USB card

- checked the Steam VOIP settings (-> they're simply connected to the mic levels of windows, so they're up to max)

- tried the auto-level function within dayz

It set the recording volume slightly below max (so DayZ itself thinks max input is not necessary)

- deactived all other listed recording devices

- there is no webcam or other microphone connected to the pc

So, since recording volume is just not the issue (working everywhere else), I ran out of ideas...

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

That's a DayZ issue. At least that's what I think it is... I can barely hear people when I'm playing DayZ. I turn my master down all the way, to like 1% or something (IN-Game Master), and VOIP to 100%, then I turn my headphones (Very good headphones with 7.1 surround sound and high-level boost) to 100% and that makes it sound audible, like what the hell.

But here it seems to be the other way round - they can here other players, but not me. It's only me who's silent.

In case I got you right, everyone is silent for you.
