How Does Zombie Spawning Work?

Say I wanted to clear a town of all zombies. Do they eventually respawn if you stay in the town too long? How does it work?

Unless u have a backpack full of ammo i doubt this is even possible.

However i do believe zombies constantly spawn if someone is nearby. Obviously DayZ has many scripts running it but at its very basic for i assume that all towns and loot areas have triggers that detect if a player is nearby. If they are i assume a script allows zombies to spawn at a certain rate. I assume there may be a cap like x playes = y zeds but not greater than MAXzeds.

This is of course pretty much speculation on my part but i dont think its possible, nor smart, to try to clear a town of zombies.

If you look at http://dayzdb.com/map it shows you each house spawns 0-however many zombies so the more houses and building in the town the more zombies spawned and they just keep spawning if you are there.

From what it seems they are endlessly respawning. I have fought neverending hordes of zombies for 15mins in NW airfield.

I think it would be better if there was an interval between spawns.

They spawn in when there is a human presence detected near structures or certain fields. Respawning seems to vary but universally seems to be too fast for most people. Longer intervals would be nice, yes.

They spawn when a human is in town, if no one is in town, no zombies!

They will keep coming if you don't have a line of sight to the outside .. ie. My friend and I were in lvl2 of a barn and they kept coming until we walked down and peeked outside.

They can't spawn where you are looking/can see. But they can spawn s away)ight beside you (a few Meter

Yesterday I was coming down from the mountains to a barn and heard shots, so I settled in for a good show. The guy shot all the zeds in the barn, and I saw him run out the door as some more zeds ran toward him from the field. He was in a pretty good fight with them for a while (I didn't think he'd make it) but he finally finished them off. As soon as they had all died, I saw more spawn in the field, which he somehow aggroed, so he fought them off. After that, he crawled away with a broken leg I guess and I didn't see any more until I went down to the barn.

So they do spawn back very fast.
