A new use for morphine

Recommended Posts

So I have an idea for a new use for morphine. Morphine is a pain reliever, right? So why not make it do exactly that, and not heal broken bones. Taking morphine when you are low on blood would remove the jittery aiming you get at extremely low blood, and also re-saturate the colors that you lose due to low blood. This effect could last for say, an hour or so. This would also mean more effects from low blood could be implemented, as you could fend them off with morphine, say, the aiming issues could begin at a higher blood level.

The idea of a wooden splinter as a fix for broken bones that has been thrown around would leave morphine open for this sort of role. Damn, you could even impose a running speed penalty for people with splinters and that movement speed is restorable to normal via the use of morphine.

Any thoughts on this?

Well, from a medical point of view morphine would even worsen the effects of blood loss.

But...

... I like the speed restoring thing!

I like the splint idea. Morphine's role in the game now is pretty unrealistic.

Yeah, because it magically fixes broken bones right?
