Hey guys.
So i recently got my new build, and when I play DayZ the FPS is maximum at 60 fps and below (40, 30 etc)

Heres my specs:

MSI GTX 780 TI
Intel i7-4770k OC to 4.2 ghz

8 gigs of ram, 2400mhz
Water cooling, fans.

SSD (Not installed on it tho)

I am playin games such as Battlefield 4 with 100+ fps with everything on ULTRA....

Comparing apples to oranges. I get 130-200 FPS in BF4, but only 40-70 in DayZ. Keep in mind the game is CURRENTLY running on DX9. Whenever they implement the new engine, you'll see a boost in performance.

Also, go google the "Silicon Lottery". It's a termed that shows one i7-4770k could perform differently than another due to the manufacturer. It's VERY small nano-errors that are near impossible to prevent. I'm not saying you have bad parts, but just keep it in mind.

Thanks a lot for your fast answer, that's very kind!

Now I am a bit curious... About the new engine, wasn't it standalone which is getting a new one ? Or is it the mod itself ?

Neither one is getting a new engine, the engine they are using for dayz standalone had simply evolved to a point where it was given its own name.

Incorrect. They are using a brand new engine, but the engine itself with utilize all the new work they have added, and replace the old still existing work. This is so they don;t have to work their magic to install a new render-er. This new engine will already have it.  But the new engine will utilize things such as the Bullet SDK Physics.

http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/199315-reddit-hicks-206-on-before-everyone-loses-their-collective-shit-omg-theyre-going-to-a-new-engine/      .... hmmm ok so I'm reading this completely wrong?  Sure seems to be about the same thing I said.

With the new engine is it based on your current tech or is it a complete rip out of everything and rewriting it?

Rocket: It is a complete rip out of everything, but we’re definitely leveraging existing tech. So if you look at Bohemia as a studio they actually acquired a great number of other studios, so really were kind of looking around and taking up tech that is available there and mixing it into the engine, rewriting new stuff from scratch that we want to do as well.

When are you looking at getting the new engine into experimental and then pushed out to stable.

Rocket: It will kind of come in a modular fashion over time.

^^ That means it will be added in sections. You won't wake up one day to a 5gb update that contains the whole engine.

This was all take from E3.
