I can't install DayZ Commander

Hi guys,

 

I'm so frustrated... because of some problems with my DayZ Commander, I decided to uninstall and install a fresh version... and the deseaster began!

After downloading from dayzcommander.com I tried to install, but it always failed because the setup wizard tells me "Newer version of this product is already    installed." (take a look at the attached picture)

 

Let me tell you what I did by myself to solve this problem:

 

1. I uninstalled "DayZ Commander" in system/programs.

2. I searched all files and archives with "Dotjosh", "DayZ Commander", "DZC" and deleted it.

3. I searched the registry with "Dotjosh", "DayZ Commander", "DZC" and deleted it.

4. I started CCleaner and cleaned the system and registry with unused files and entrys.

5. I started HiJackThis and analysed the logfile.

 

After every single step I tried to install DayZ Commander but it always stopped...

 

I tried to google my problem, but I couldn't find any answer. The official DC forum seems to be closed, I can't enter it.

 

Can someone please help me???

hey man sucks no one has answered you post i just wanted to let you know you're not the only one with this problem =/ its happening to me too. i found that for some reason Dayz commander is still recognized as being in my Computer but i uninstalled everything about it and all files related to it, but it seems that just made it worse cause now when i try to uninstall it again it says it cant find any of the files needed to uninstall and i have to re install them to delete them but i cant install it cause i keep getting that freaking dumb message that says i have a newer version installed. probably the most irritating thing i have ever had to deal with on this computer >=[

Hey Guys,

 

I know this post is a little old, But hopefully this helps everyone else who maybe having this issue. Once you have deleted the acutual files from you C: dive, or where ever you have it installed. You need to go to Start and in the search bar type in regedit if you are on windows 7. from here you will want to click on Edit->Find.  and do a search for either dotjosh,  or just commander. In my case I just did a search for commander, but if you have any other programs with the name commander in it, you may just search for dotjosh which is part of the name of DayzCommanders development company.  Anyways, just keep searching and deleting everything that has that name in your registry, once you do that, you should be good to go.
