Time Glitch 453 Posted May 14, 2012 I just wanted to share my love of this game. The last 3 hours have been some of the best gaming hours I've had in a very long time. I started out not even knowing the controls or the map, but I survived.I went through my first ammo and food pretty quick due to inexperience, but I lucked upon a ton of Winchester ammo, and lo and behold a pair of binoculars! It was only 10 minutes in, max. Those things are my prize possessions. I was really running low on food and water, and while I had a lot of canteens, the only water I found was glitched and didn't let me fill up. I had to make my way to the coast, and that's where I spent most of my time. I ran to a concrete island off the shore, and there was nothing there but zombies. I learned that the hard way, looking through all the buildings and finding nothing but scrap. Oh, did I mention that I broke my legs, and nearly bled out with zombies on top of me? I don't know how I survived, but painkillers and morphine somehow repaired my bones and I was good to go again, but I lost a lot of blood. Things were looking incredibly grim. I was at zero hunger and needed food. I sucked it up and entered a zombie-infested town. I found a lot of ammo, and even a new backpack, but no food. As I was about to give up hope, I looked in my pack and...Newb mistake coming in here...I had a can of sardines in it the whole time! Fed enough, I then needed to sneak out of the city again and refill my water. I was checking a shed when I hear shots ring out. I hit the deck and type out "Friendly?"...More shooting. Zombies in my area unfortunately do not take notice. I assume whoever it was died, because the shots stopped and I heard no footsteps or zombie yells. After that scary moment, I managed to sneak all the way out of town and back towards where I killed a goat earlier, hoping it'd still be there for some chow. It wasn't, but I had enough food, so I decided to head back out to the wilderness to log out. Just as I'm 100 yards or so away...More shots. I hit the deck again and scope it out with my binoculars. A group of 4 players, madly firing into zombies. I couldn't tell if they were bandits or not, as I still had lost blood and everything was sepia tone. Plus, they were across a bridge. I began to crawl away, as I was in a totally open field. I got behind some cover, and I never found out what happened to them. The zeds around there seemed to calm down, so I assume they all died. Cautiously, I made my way to the wilderness...And here I am.Rocket, you and your team have something special here. I don't even know what to say other than thank you. I can see myself wasting too many hours in this game...Just...OH MY GOD THAT WAS AWESOME!!!=D
Vipeax 318 Posted May 14, 2012 Nice to see that you enjoy the game and see/play it as you should: trying to think your life is at value and survival is all that matters (instead of just respawning every second because you couldn't find in 2 minutes). I_aint_no_bandit 5 Posted May 14, 2012 Nothing better than when you ditch your makarov for revolver or m1911, then you have a decent side arm :D
premiumkrap 41 Posted May 14, 2012 this is the type of post i love here...no complaining, just pure awesomeness. Welcome to DayZ man
i wub pugs 16 Posted May 14, 2012 Click the link in my sig. We were able to get 7 guys online to start but we lost 2 to disconnection and one actually says he doesn't want to play anymore because of bugs (even though it's alpha). We've got like 5 or 6 more that want to play. If we can get everyone on a server we could have in excess of 12.Really great mod.
Time Glitch 453 Posted May 15, 2012 this is the type of post i love here...no complaining' date=' just pure awesomeness. Welcome to DayZ man[/quote']I don't see how you COULD complain. It's literally zombie survival. Those looking for a gun-and-loot MMO are in the wrong place.

TillGrave (DayZ) 0 Posted May 15, 2012 I agree, this is an excellent mod! Thank you to everyone involved! Im happy to help test it!Btw- After about an hour of moving cautiously away from heavily populated areas, I finally came across a lonely farmhouse with a Lee Enfield (unfortunately no ammo) and found a good place to hunker down for the night...sleeping lightly off & on thru the night, off the side of the road in a ditch among the taller bushes as to avoid any potential marauders. SDE Bellisarius 1 Posted May 17, 2012 one suggestion to everyone , DONT log-off in urban areas, always try to go into the woods and log off there, you never know who and how many ppl might be around you when you log back in.
bkgfernando 2 Posted May 17, 2012 one suggestion to everyone ' date=' DONT log-off in urban areas, always try to go into the woods and log off there, you never know who and how many ppl might be around you when you log back in.[/quote']completely agree mate- last night I logged back in only to find that I was RIGHT in the middle of a red flare and a bandit was only 4 metres away from me lootin' a survivor he had just shot! Luckily I had logged off in prone position else I would have been toast.I completely agree with Time Glitch too. This mod has awesomely re-kindled my love of gaming all over again, as if for the first time, and I have been gaming 30 years lol. Rocket is so spot on with creating a mod that creates an emotional attachment to your character. THAT is what has been missing in my gaming and I DO NOT want my 2 day old self to die!! The impact of that in game is mind blowing to me in how I perceive in game events. eg. I think TWICE before shooting another player. First game I EVER did that in. I think TWICE before shooting a zombie in case I attract other zombies and worse Bandits and put my virtual self in danger.Brilliant stuff - can't wait for Beta never mind production MOD. :-)
stripes 92 Posted May 17, 2012 Yea totally agree, this has rekindled my interest in video games. Been gaming for years but just as I came to the conclusion that video game makers have lost their creative touch DayZ comes my way! Awesome game in every aspect (despite the Zed bug).
