Izziee 128 Posted June 28, 2012 It's SO frustrating, freezing every 10 seconds for a second or so. I don't know what it is, I've turned the graphics down (Just to compare I've had no issues with any other game and can run BF3 on ultra just fine) I don't have the best computer but its less than a year old at £900 ($1400?).I keep it clean, no spyware or anything like that (I run norton 360 though, and strangely I have to turn off the tamper protection to play this otherwise it floods my system trying to change registry keys (why?? BUT to be fair, I believe this to be arma) and then it shuts my internet down since it floods it so much. I do have sufficient space to play it, I'm in the green at least (I was last night too, but installed something and went into the red by about 1 gig so I uninstalled a bunch today and have more than enough free space) I've turned off everything in the background also. However, the last couple of servers I've played on today it's been hell. I thought maybe it would be the server, but after changing twice and it still happens I don't know what to do. It's pretty unplayable. I've had this before with DayZ over the last few days, but I've also had some pretty spot on playthroughs with no issues. I've also tried a low pop server with 12/50 players and still the same. I've turned post processing off and AA to try. Any suggestions? Is it the servers? Are there a lot of bad ones out there, my ping was something like 15ms. It's really frustrating but I know it can run smooth since I have. Do you have any advice?
Hazzer (DayZ) 0 Posted June 28, 2012 I've found that server speeds drastically affect FPS. On some servers I get less than 15 FPS and on others I have a lovely 30 FPS or higher.
ALICE666 0 Posted June 28, 2012 i had that freezing every 10 seconds or so. For me the problem was with the six launcher. When I launch the game now, after I pick a server I close the six launcher and whoa la no more freeze. If your using the launcher try this might help. :)Your also right that performance is probablu dependant on the server. I'm an Aussie but I noticed it runs dramatically better on the New Zealands rather than AU servers.

Will see how it goes!
ZomboWTF 527 Posted June 28, 2012 it IS the six launcher, i had the same problem, and this is why:The six launcher updates ALL servers (pings them, sees how many players are on, etc...)every few seconds, its automatically, and you cant turn it offso, when you launch the game over six launcher, close it right after that!it may seem weird but updating a thousand servers every 10 seconds creates a bit of load to your PC

hawkygaming 43 Posted June 28, 2012 Launch the Game through the Six Updater :)Keeps everything in par and if you click the Mods section it will track to see if there is a Update with the DayZ files or such.
