Loopest 60 Posted June 1, 2014 So, if any of you have ever played Dead Rising 3, you know that EVERY zombie looks different. This is because of a R.A.S .(Randomized Appearance System). So, let's suppose this was implemented in DayZ ( ;) ): The system would use survivor's clothing models for the zombies, and that clothing would be accessible. But if you hit/shot the zombies lower than the shoulders, the clothing would all be ruined.Military zombies would be rarer and would spawn better military-gear, but would have to be dealt with by hand so the gear wouldn't be ruined.Zombies would also have different faces, and the models would be based off of current survivor faces, but more zombie-like.
Cuqah 22 Posted June 1, 2014 I think having the ability to loot clothes off of dead zombies would be awesome, it would give a use to the ability to be able to view a dead zombies inventory.
KamiOfKOS 50 Posted June 1, 2014 Who wanna use rotten clothes lol ?Im more interested in clothes for the actual zeds models, maybe in the future even a random face, but imho now they have other priority, i hope lol.
fluxley 2228 Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) Rocket has said in the past that zeds wont use player clothing because it would use up too many resources to render a lot on screen at the same time, thats why the current zeds use a much simpler model than the player character. That means there has to to be individual zombie models for each look, i'm sure they intend to do more as the game progresses buts its probably a very low priority right now.
