ZomboWTF 527 Posted June 28, 2012 there are a few things to know about the arma engine with high ram and a decent graphics card:Ram: keep the setting "Video memory" on default, very high is 1gb i think, default detects the right setting)disable post processing effectsselect the same resolution for your 3d and itnerfce resolution (best is native)if your graphics card is decent, select shadows "high" never normal, normal and lower will run shadows over CPU, from high upwards the GPU will process shadowsHDR can be turned to lowestwith 3gb ram the textures shouldnt be a problem, but try setting object and terrain details on low/very low (especially the object details eat fps like crazy)every guide to arma2/dayz performance i've read told me to turn off anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering to normal or low, anti aliasing isnt that great anywaysalso, almost every guide says to shut off vsync, dont kno why, but it helped mefrom around 25fps to 50 here

giiwedin@live.com 32 Posted July 9, 2012 ordered 8gb more ram and am going to see if this helps fix my 60 seconds of low ass fps
xJakeyy 6 Posted July 9, 2012 I hope you didn't order more RAM, because it's the processor that is bottlenecking and killing the frames, this game is heavily CPU dependant and a core 2 duo @ 2.26GHz just won't cut it. However, the new patch coming out will be fixing frame rate issues, and if you have a steady playable framerate for a while, it should be improved and be better for you. giiwedin@live.com 32 Posted July 11, 2012 i actually completely fixed my fps on here, i delted the sub folders in my windows.old folder in the c drive and reinstalled my nvida driver, last thing i did was purchase x2 4gb crucial ram sticks and i get no fps lag at all. seems this game will run with atleast a dual core cpu and 8gb of video ram. giiwedin@live.com 32 Posted July 11, 2012 @ xJakeyy you are def right about it being a cpu HOG if you have a good CPU & RAM this game will run flawless. untill i get a quad core processor it runs fine for now but the 8gb of ram did help.
Davo{RS} 2 Posted July 17, 2012 Glad you solved your fps problem! For the benefit of anyone else with frame rate drop spikes, I had a weird fps drop issue caused by dust in my PC causing the motherboard to overheat.Using an air-duster fixed it.See my post here:http://dayzmod.com/f...ag-spikes-help/
