Forgotten World (PVE, passworded, hardcore, minimum addons, read for more)

Forgotten World

Hey all. I'd like the community to be aware that I'm hosting a PVE server 24/7. This is designed to be a hardcore server, meant for veteran DayZ players who don't die constantly and are looking for more of a challenge. This server has minimum addons (no self-bloodbags, no easy-mode scripts), and vehicles are meant to be bought from traders and cherished. Surviving and thriving in this server will be more challenging than others, but also more rewarding. Read below for details.

_______________________________________________________________

Chernarus

Epoch

Beefy, solid state, dedicated 24/7 server

The server is passworded. If you're interested in playing here, send me a PM here on the forums including your character's name

All items sold (not bought) by traders have had their prices increased by 5x for a more balanced challenge, with a couple of exceptions:

-Storage locker price is the normal 1 briefcase

-Some of the vehicle prices have been tweaked to make more sense in comparison to other vehicle prices

Vehicle spawns are completely disabled, and missions only spawn wrecks...vehicles only come from traders

-Armed vehicles cost quite a bit and won't be a pushover to get

-Mission vehicles will not spawn, they are replaced by vehicle wrecks

-All vehicles are precious on this server, and are meant to be earned

A higher-end ruby-based currency system is in place for aircraft purchases from all traders

-Aircraft cost rubies instead of normal briefcases on this server

-Rubies can be purchased from either of the two wholesaler merchants along the coast for 5 briefcases

You may build a temporary bicycle if you collect the appropriate parts and possess a toolbox

-Once built, it cannot be repacked and you can't get your parts back, so build wisely

-The bike is temporary, and will disappear after a server restart, so make sure the server will be up for a few hours before you build it (!upt in global)

-Bicycle: 2x Car Wheel, 1x Scrap Metal - right click your toolbox and select "Build Bicycle"

Default DayZ starting loadout (flashlight, bandage, painkillers, coyote patrol pack)

Normal, coastal spawn-ins

Bases set on the default 6-day decay

Plot poles required, you will lose ownership after dying and must uproot and re-plant it

Day/night cycle (4 hours day, 3 hours night...get some night-vision goggles from the traders!)

Server reboots every 7 hours with plenty of warning

-Type !upt in the global channel to see the server's current uptime

Default DayZ weather

Occasional roaming bandit AI in the towns and cities...not overwhelming, just enough to keep it interesting

Bandit and Hero traders are neutral and accessible by everyone, due to the PVE nature of the server

Be aware: something is very wrong in Chernarus...if you begin experiencing auditory/visual hallucinations, get somewhere safe

If you play hard enough to be able to afford it, you can hire a personal helicopter evacuation pilot to be on-call 24/7

   -You must own a helicopter

-His services cost 7 full briefcases of gold...the payment is one-time-only, and non-refundable

-You must have the key to the helicopter in your inventory when purchasing or firing the helicopter pilot

-You must have a radio in your inventory to call on your pilot's services

-Radios can be purchased from the building materials traders in each trader city for 1 full briefcase of gold (under the toolbelt category)

-The best way to utilize this service is to spread some safes along the coastal re-spawn area with an emergency radio in each one (remember your codes)

Zombies move slower here, but are much more dangerous...don't let one sneak up behind you!

Addons:

   +Trader city safe zones

+An expensive helicopter emergency pilot (not easy-mode, read above)

-Once you have the required currency, a helicopter, and the key to it, place it where you want it and its landing pad to be from now on

-Use the scroll menu to hire your emergency pilot while looking at the helicopter...do the same to fire him (non-refundable)

-Use this helicopter only for emergency/evacuation purposes...always leave it on its pad

+Local visibility (you can set your own view distance via a separate scroll-menu option, no more locked visibility!)

+Towing/heli lift (locked vehicles cannot be towed, lifted, salvaged, stolen from, or damaged)

-Boats and airplanes can be towed and lifted, and helicopters can be lifted, so you can keep all your hard-earned vehicles in one base

+Epoch Mission System (Fuch's, repacked by Defent, customized by me to be a bit more hardcore)

-The mission AI are set at default (quite difficult) which means you'll have to plan, take cover, and work for the loot rewards

-Mission vehicles do not spawn, and are replaced by vehicle wrecks...and mission descriptions/text have been modified to reflect this

   +Rare DZAI vehicle/heli patrols/roaming bandits

-DZAI roaming bandits, and only 1 heli and jeep patrol will be in the server at a time, for that surprise effect

_______________________________________________________________

Anything not in the list above, is not on this server and is not modified from default. This is not a funserver.

Server rules:

No PVP of any kind, direct or indirect

Do not give the password to anyone

No obstructing the map with your base (this means blocking off a large area of the map where useful things could spawn,

and/or preventing players from being able to access popular/interesting parts of the map)

No tampering with/stealing/building onto/damaging anyone else's property (their bases, storage, vehicles, etc)

No entering someone's base without their permission, whether the doors are locked or not

No obstructing a road to the point that another player can't drive around the obstruction and can't use the road...if

you're going to build a base on a road, don't block the entire area off...allow players to be able to drive

around it and continue down the road

Do not constantly farm certain areas...when you've looted one area, move on to another...be considerate

Be polite, and show other players COMMON COURTESY...people have forgotten what this means...if you play here, you'd

better have it, or you'll be gone fast...you are no more important than any other member...remember it

If you are caught using hacks of any kind, you will be banned forever, and this server does run multiple anti-cheat systems

Don't change your in-game name after you gain access, because I use them to know who is who...so I can tell if

someone that shouldn't have access is on the server...names not on my access list will be banned

_______________________________________________________________

Troublemakers, PVPers, and especially trolls who ask a million questions and like to get technical trying to find a loophole in the rules to cause trouble, will all be swiftly banned, and any damage you cause will be easily reverted by an admin in a matter of minutes, and you will be forgotten in even less time. Anyone with half a brain will understand the spirit of this server, if you have to ask multiple technical questions about the rules, go to a PVP server.

Myself and the other admins will quietly spectate random players, at random intervals, without you noticing. Creepy? Yeah, true. Effective at weeding out hackers/PVPers/troublemakers? Yes sir, which is the goal. I want a trouble-free PVE server. Obey the rules and you'll have an enjoyable, smooth gametime.

If you're interested in playing here, send me a private message here on the forums, and include your character's name!

(Tips for getting started in the server: Wait until you've looted the parts to build a bicycle, and also looted a couple of good rifles to sell for gold. Save the bike parts until you know the server will be up for long enough to build it and travel north near a trader city. Sell your rifles and other misc. stuff, and loot areas around the trader city until you've got 10oz of gold, then buy your first used car (ALWAYS, ALWAYS make a copy of your key, and stash it in your campsite). Craft a tent and build a little campsite somewhere in some woods. Always start small, and slowly work your way up to greater things.)

Im new to the idea of pve server. what are you doing when you got a base, a heli and your safe full of briefcases? Or is it meant to be very hard to get there? So you'll have more fun getting your first safe, base, ect.

Also, question about the rules. (no stealing is allowed) does this mean you dont need a safe or lock on your doors? as its not allowed to take something from a unlocked base/storage shed?

Yeah, acquiring things here (especially aircraft) is a challenge. The AI here are also pretty tough. Reaching the point where you have a base, cash, weapons and vehicles is a long process and adventure itself. Everything is an achievement on this server.

And technically, no, you really don't need a safe or lock on your doors, but many (myself included) opt to use them anyway for peace of mind.

It seems like PVE servers really aren't in demand these days. This server will be closing in the next few days, and will be replaced by an open, regular server where PVP can and will happen. The server will have a new name, new rules, new trader prices and other changed settings, and a new thread will go up eventually.
