Backpacks and swimming

With the ability to chop wood heading our way, wouldn't it be cool if you could use rope to tie some logs to your backpack so you could tether it to yourself while swimming to an island?

I just found out last night that you can't swim with a backpack, which makes perfect sense. It would be nice though if there was a way around that.

You can swim with a backpack, and you can cut down trees in the exp branch as well as make fire places for cooking food that you have hunted..
