Death timer

Why on earth you were camping at coast close by spawn point unless you are most probably a spawn camper and trying to kill fresh spawns. I've played DayZ SA over 700 hours and not even single bambi or fresh spawn could have managed to kill me or my friends whom got gear.  

 

You just want death timer , just because you want to kill fresh spawns and avoid them overrun at your spot again.  So you can easily camp.  

 

There is no way you can easily recover your gear if you play legit way and not a lame way camping at coast.  We had firefights  against fully geared teams and for us and  them were always hard to recover the gear of fallen due to ongoing fight till wipe eachother.

 

Only fresh spawn campers or bambi campers travels or camp at coast where people spawn.

 

 

Just a thought, wouldnt a death timer make spawn camping actually LESS attractive for spawn campers? People would be more careful, die less and even if they kill someone, the respawn takes a time.

I could be wrong, but wouldnt that make spawn camping really boring when they had to wait like forever?

Even more of a reason for asshats to camp the coast. A timer won't deter them, only strengthen their efforts.

 

Also, some people cant wait all day to play DayZ when they have stuff to do later. Example: You only have 40 minutes to play. Get killed by spawn camper twice in row. You now have 20 minutes.

I have never been spawn killed, neither have any of my friends and together we have over 1000 hours of DayZ.

I think you make spawn camping a bigger thing than it is just because you want to keep death as free fast travel when you dont like your spawn...

I highly doubt in over 1000 hours that you/ your friends never died within 5 minutes of spawning on the coast, but I'll take you word for it. And no, I don't want this not added so i can switch my spawn; I already stated my reasons. The logout timer is already over the top and no other "timer" needs to be added to that. Please refrain from making false assumptions in the future.

This is going to get many negative reactions, especialy from bang bang CoD kids I am sure, but I was thinking how to make death a bit more of a threat.

Since we cant give everyone one life only, the next best option would be a deathtimer.

 

Lets say you get shot, killed by a Zombie or drop to your dead, meaning your life ends by any means, You get a 10 minute timer before you can respawn.

 

I know it sounds harsh, but it would stop fresh spawned players from just Rambo attack full geared players because "I have nothing to lose anyway" (and dont tell me that doesnt happen, I cant count how often a Bambie on the coast just jumped me while I had a freaking gun pulled out...) and even full geared players from just Rabo around because "I will just recover my stuff when I die..."

 

10 minutes Death timer and a 10 minute timer until a dead Body despawns.

 

No more "I am too far from Airfield, I will just kill myself"; "I attack this geared player, best case Scenario I get his stuff, worst case I spawn a second later", "Our group attack, when we win we cam the corpses and everyone just gets their stuff back.

Saying no to this. Why?

 

 

If you die, it would encourage server hopping, which is already bad enough as it is.

Cuts down on player time as well, which im sure is something the devs want to avoid.

Player approval im sure would be cut down as well. Who the hell wants to stare at a black screen for 10 minutes doing shit all?

 

 

And later on in development, people wont want to repeatedly kill themselves as fresh spawns, because there will be times when you want to stay alive. EG Soft skills. Character randomization of skills when spawning in.

 

 

So, no from me.
