Issue with Campfire No fire/flames.

I have a problem when I put down a campfire I can't see the flames at all?  My friend can see them but I can not.  I have waited to make sure it wasn't lag also tested it on other servers and I even re-installed everything.  Still nothing. I have flames if something blows up,  only for a few seconds then just smoke.  I don't think it is a graphics issue because I had flames before.   Now all of sudden flames are gone.  Also at heli crash sites only smoke, I use to see fire not anymore though.  I have tried everything to get it to work and no luck.   Anybody with this issue or has fixed this issue love to hear from you.

Files that contained the visual effects for the fire could have possibly been deleted.

 

Try running a validation through steam.

Sorry to ask but I'm kinda new to the steam thing.  How do I do that?

Sometimes the flame and smoke wont activate - try taking the logs off the fire then putting them back on and relighting it.

 

The effects are just visual and will not make the fire unable to cook things.

 

You can also try adding more logs to the fire before lighting it.

i tired putting more wood on the fire wouldn't let me.  Also tried to take off the wood and put back on it didn't let me take the logs off either.  I have no Idea why it is doing this I remember I had flames when I first bought the game and installed dayz now I don't.  I also don't know how to run a validation through steam to check files.  Thank you both for replying.  It's just driving me nuts I can't see the flames!!!

• Launch steam as administrator by right clicking on the icon/run as admin
• Go to steam library
• Right click Arma 2
• Go to properties
• Hit the local files tab
• Select verify game cache
• Run the game
• Repeat for Arma 2 OA

Thank you verify the game everything was ok.  went into game still no fire/flames.
