VoidingNixx 39 Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) So, cannot really figure out why this game runs so badly for me. I'm at 1920x1080 res. trying to play this game, with only two settings on normal, and everything else set to low, very low, or disabled... yet, in cities, I can only achieve about 15-25 FPS... After benchmarking this system, I cannot find a bottleneck on the system. The CPU, RAM, nor GPU are working at their max potentials... I'm just wondering why.... why am I not hitting 90+% on my system, why is this game lagging without even pushing the system and using the available resources? Here's a screenshot showing how idle the system is. The CPU never really hits above 68% on any of the cores, the GPU stays at around 30% constantly, and RAM is always at around 50%. So, what needs to be done to have this game use more? Edited May 21, 2014 by VoidingNixx
Zedertone 378 Posted May 21, 2014 My old comp would do this sometimes, it would lag on games, although not push my system.
VoidingNixx 39 Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) My old comp would do this sometimes, it would lag on games, although not push my system. It's almost like my system is saying "meh, that's good enough..." Seriously, it's like hitting a wall for no reason. Like, there is some cap on the system... Edited May 21, 2014 by VoidingNixx

applejaxc 2500 Posted May 21, 2014 ArmA 2, 3, and the SA (the ArmA engine in general) is notoriously poorly optimized. It refuses, for whatever reason (I have not the technical understanding; I've never worked on engine creation) to use everything you have available. Like a Windows 7 32 bit machine can have 2000TB of RAM installed, but it will never utilize more than 4 GB, ArmA can be run on a GTX 9999999999999999 ultraamazingtwentymilliondollar graphics card, have 20000TB RAM, an i7-9 billion MQHSDLKDSJKDFD CPU, and the best chip in the world, and get out performed by some crappy Toshiba laptop because a driver update for the integrated HD 3000 card was better than the update for your specs.
