DarkEnergy 4 Posted June 27, 2012 So me and my friends decided to host and administrate a server.We want to do a good job and understand enough to do that job.But sadly I have to say the resources you can find on this topic is quite hard to come by.Now a player has been banned from our server, and he is claiming to have done nothing wrong. we have checked the logs and found that he supposedly tampered with this file and the sig was off "Wrong signature for file f:\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\addons\rocks2.pbo"Somebody who would do this (on purpose) would probably not join our TS an ask for a unban, so we are trying to unban him.we have all the information you would normally need to unban that player. (GUID,name,ip and id) but we fail to find any trace of him in our supposed ban list. (ban.txt located in battleye folder) Any help on this subject would be appreciated.another question are invalid sigs common enough to merit only a kick and not ban ? Can anybody give me some resources i can study to further my understanding of administrating a server, and the inner workings of it.At the moment it is quite frustrating and we need to make educated guesses how it all hangs together. dooks 1 Posted June 28, 2012 Try this in BErcon: type bans and look for his name, it will have a slot number, then type removeBan [slot #] . Pretty sure BE only issues global bans not to individual servers, so prob not them, but I could be wrong. I do see this error pop up from time to time on the server but no one is banned for it only kicked by BE. I have randomly had that error myself though and it was only a kick normally just close the game and relaunch but twice I had to get the file from steam again.
