Private Hive Shards + Other Maps

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about what dean said about private hives maybe considting of groups of servers or "shards". If this was the case I would suggest that they make each server in the group able to support a different map.

For transitions id have triggers at the map edges to initiate a "do you wish to travel to...." option. Chernarus could link to two other shards and each other server 2 more....and so on for the size of the hive.

If each map maker was to include a few screenshots at the correct res, maybe an ingame item could be needed to allow the menu option to show up. I was thinking a "Tourists guide to....". The item could pull the name on the cover from the map title in the game files, and decorate it with the screenshots included by the map maker.

Upon getting the guide, traveling to the map edge and activating the the option, we could be confronted with a window. Here it would have suggested supplies to make the trip. Could read say...."10x canned food, xL water, and a tent needed to travel to......"

If you have everything on the list then you arrive in the same condition you left in. However you can always attempt the journey regardless of your supplies. If you have say half of whats needed you will get there, but be in bad shape. Dehydrated, hungry low blood....more so the less supplies you have :)
