Sneaky zombies

Wouldn't it be cool if some zombies could get knocked out or take a hit to the head with an axe or whatever, appear to be dead for like 10 seconds or maybe even just spawn on the ground looking dead and then suddenly get up to charge at the player?

 

 

It would be annoying as heck but it would add to the difficulty in an interesting way I think, especially when zombies actually have loot on them you could go over to check it and then it jumps up at you, so you shoot it and probably attract more or have to melee it and possibly take some damage, especially if you see that it has something you want but you didn't have the time to take it, like a bandage or can of food. Or in the case of military zombies much needed ammo/magazines.

 

You could get round it by just double headshotting them but it would still make things a bit more difficult, and in stereotypical zombie fashion you've all seen a movie or played a game where something seems totally dead and then it suddenly comes to life and does something annoying.

 

Right now they do seem to get knocked out or just fall over but it's only for like a second or two so it would be cool if they expanded on that and made you think it was safe, turning your back on what might just kill you.

Maybe when they do more than just swing their arms around they could jump on your back and start biting you too, your lack of caution giving you a serious and possibly fatal wound.

Zpocalypse must be annoying. i want that as well. if zeds are dead in dayz SA they land on their back. i think if the stand up timer was random and the dying animation was the same as the knocked out animation it would be good. double tap with 7.62 is not needed. but 5.56, .22 , 9mm , etc. atm .22 lets the zombie fall and stand up again so you would need 2 shots to kill them (in the head) random zombie health would also help so zombies might stay down even if you only shot once with .22 so the player things "ah only one shot, ok". learning process would it be after that you cant be shocked because you always double tap with low calibers.

 

what i like is the fact that the zeds now damage you even if you run away (when they jump). it forces you to deal with them if you have no obstacles to lose them. shooting zeds should be necessary in zombie games. i didnt use my gun in dayz for 30 days. huge amount of ammo for nothing. i hate it when i shoot once, bandits appear to kill me.
