Bad FPS with very low and very high settings?

Recommended Posts

Before I begin this, here are my PC specifications:

AMD Phenom II X4 850 Processor 3.3 GHz

8.2 GB of RAM

Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64 bit

GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB

I have already changed the Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA txt folders (where you change these numbers to 1 on all the txt files). I seem to be getting an average of 15 fps with very low and very high settings. I haven't defragged in a long time, my other games run 30-60 fps consistantly (Minecraft, Battlefield 3 High, Garry's mod, Just Cause 2). Any help would be appreciated!

1. The game is very badly optimized

2. Ur graphics card is very low-mid end.

3. How many GB of ram do you have?

4. Try lowering ur resolution to 1280x720 and play on low-normal settings. Should give u a slight FPS boost.

EDIT: Or try 1600x1200 sincs 1280x720 will look very bad/blurred.

Usually problems where the FPS doesn't change with the graphics settings are to do with your CPU. ArmA 2/DayZ are CPU heavy games so that might be your problem? I don't really know hardware but looking at a benchmark from the net your CPU is pretty old. I'd imagine to increase performance you'd need to update it
